Reflector Pavilion
2016

The pavilion stands at the heart of the city, in the epicenter of a bustling festival. Its outwardly simple structure appears deliberately calm and indifferent - the pavilion's light-reflective finish responds to and distorts the festivities happening around it.

Absolute darkness is a place where a person does not feel the passage of time. In the darkness, one can abstract themselves from external commotion, concentrate, think, and relax. Ultimately, it allows one to be alone for a while and do nothing. The interior space of the Reflector caters to this need - sound and light-absorbing materials were chosen for the finishing of the peripheral gallery and the main chamber. The pavilion offers the visitor the autonomy to decide how they will spend their time, finding themselves in the embrace of darkness.
