Agora Pavilion
2016

"Beyond yon distant mountains high,
A splendid day in secret lies;
From hayfield's edge where waters ply,
In undulating waves, oh my,
Lengthens a quivering, shy disguise."

The Agora is a permeable open structure featuring shaded walkways, vertical gardens, and several essential functional cores, including kiosks offering ice cream and beverages, souvenir stands, bicycle rentals, and information points. Additional cores can be added to meet everyday or seasonal demand.

The pavilion is designed using a modular system that meets various functional and formal-aesthetic requirements. Assembled from interchangeable modules, it can serve not only its primary purpose but also, when disassembled, exist as a series of independent singular park objects.

The framework of the basic module, with its replaceable floor panels, walls, and dome vaults, provides a simple and flexible means of modification.
