Villa Bakuriani
2018
Villa Bakuriani is a project of a modest hideout at the Trialeti mountain range in Georgia. Architecture follows both physical and metaphysical contexts: local spatial and material tropes interlace with clients’ urbane needs and background. A house for a young couple is comprised of three distinctive parts. Living room with a fireplace is the focal point of the house. Kitchen and terrace alongside a smaller living room atop the kitchen face the center of the Bakuriani caldera. Bedrooms are connected to the smaller living room by the galleries akin to those of the old Tbilisi courtyards. Spiral staircase in the master bedroom leads down to a serene study with a garden.
