Is Rijeka Fiume? Is Rijeka split?
Rijeka is presented here as a collage of different spatial fragments and architectural forms. Their character reinforces the (dis)order that supports them. In this case, their potential is not being absorbed by the historical (dis)order of Rijeka urban planning.
“Fiume Novare, in a “bastardized”, broken Italian, describes well the publication’s attempt to get immersed into a world of New Rijeka imaginaries. The publication uses “passwords” - Rimax, Corography, Delta, Džir, Intercessor - to enable us to plunge in and re-apprehend the imaginable narratives about Rijeka, by crystalizing and situating them in a panoramic, but “split” perspective.
