Plan 2
2014

Our project is defined by an approach that combines respect for the constructive genius of Moisei Ginzburg and Ignatius Milinis with a desire to update the achievements of great architects. When we came across the concise and carefully calibrated second version of the building's master plan, we realised that we needed to revive it. And this revival had to be in line with the times because the functionality of the building took precedence over aesthetics in the intentions of the constructivists. We proposed our own project based on a modern functional zoning plan. The dynamism of Ginzburg and Milinis's creative thinking was determined by the social task of transitioning to a new life and a new way of living. In our case, there was an added tension between viewing the House of the People's Commissariat of Finance as an architectural monument and as a residential building. We addressed the issue of private and public space in modernity and the problem of the physical and metaphysical life of the house. Our "Plan 2" is a concept for the revival of the Narkomfin in the spirit of creative continuity.
