Two car visors reminded us of a classic three-door dressing mirror in terms of their shape. We decided to reimagine this item, taking into account the plasticity and logic of the original parts. The new object is a synthesis of a classic dressing mirror, a vanity, and a tall console cabinet. We assume that the proportions, the ratio of functional parts, and the base will allow it to be used on the go, right before leaving the apartment.
The trapezoidal shape of the dressing mirror, determined by the angle of the doors in relation to the horizontal surfaces, is close in tectonics to a pyramid. The protruding console table with a supporting “leg” creates a more complex profile of the object, making the dressing mirror visually stable. Due to the emphasized “verticality,” the dressing mirror also shares silhouette features with a column, and the top of the dressing mirror with its delicate decorative details is a logical completion of the entire volume, similar to a capital in a column.
