Pavilion “Novembersk”
2025
Yet another interpretation of Northern Vernacular Architecture. Its image is archetypal — it is a refuge in harsh northern climatic conditions.
The pavilion is dynamic in terms of its geometric form. Its floor plan is conceived as two ellipses sharing a single focal point, in which the stove is placed. The stove-hearth, as a core radiating warmth, organizes the interior spaces around itself and divides the main area into a hall for visitors with a large communal table and utility rooms for the staff. The axes of the inner and outer ellipse are positioned at different angles relative to the common line of the boulevard. All parts strive toward the center, yet, possessing their own individual rotation, they simultaneously disperse and coalesce into a unified composition. The pavilion is dynamic not only in terms of its form and layout, but also in terms of its perception — its metal shingles shimmer in the sun.
